How do I listen to W-Fuck-Off Radio?
If there is a show scheduled, look at the left side of the navigation radio at the top for this image:

Clicking on this button (in the navigation, not the one directly above this paragraph) will open a blank window, which should start up some type of program such as Windows Media Player. The button will be displayed approximately thirty minutes before a show starts and will stay on for the duration of the show.
To listen to the show, you will need some kind of audio player that can interpret .asx files. iTunes and Windows Media Player are two common media players that will work.
I'm at the W-Fuck-Off Radio site, but I don't see the button.
There are a couple of things that you can check to make sure that things are working.
- Check the show schedule. Make sure that there's actually a show going on.
- Check the time. All the times we post are Eastern Standard Time, usually with Daylight Savings. Here's a map with time zone information that may help. The Lotus Pod is in Zone "R".
I clicked on the "Listen Live" button, but nothing happened.
There are a couple of reasons this may be the case.
- The broadcast will typically start anywhere from 15-30 minutes before the actual start of the show. If you get a message that the file could not be found, the station may not be on the air yet. Wait a few minutes or so then either click on the "Listen Live" button again, or just click "Play" in your media player.
- Some listeners have said that their anti-virus or other Internet security software are causing issues by blocking the connection. If you get some kind of warning message from that software, check the settings in that program.

Show Questions
Can I talk to the DJs on the air?
In a word: sometimes. The phone lines are open when a show is broadcasting—the number is (248) 306-5616. However, the DJ may or may not be taking phone calls, based on the direction the show is headed on any given night. Some shows may take calls and not play music; some may be the exact opposite. If you listen to the DJ during the show and pay attention to when he wants phone calls, you will have a better chance of getting on the air. The other chance to call in is when the DJ is running a contest or giveaway at some point. Of course, you'll usually have to win to talk to the DJ.
Well, then, can I talk to the DJ off the air?
In a word: no. If the DJs tried to talk to everyone that called in, the phones would never stop and the DJs would never get a chance to rest their voice.
Can I request a song?
Sure. But there's no guarantee that the DJ will play your request. The songs that are played are typically selected before the show, and the DJ only brings in what he needs. If you use the contact form for a request, the DJ might play it then, especially if it happens to fit with the theme they have planned for their show.
Why are you playing (insert song name here)?
The DJs select what music will be played on their show, without any restrictions. If you don't like a song, well... keep in mind the name of the station. But if you give some different music a chance, you'll definitely learn about some fresh new music along the way.
Will you play my music on W-Fuck-Off Radio?
Some DJs will play a song or two that was sent to them by an aspiring artist. If you would like to send in your music to see if a DJ will play it, you can send it to this address:
(insert show name)
c/o W-Fuck-Off Radio
P.O. Box 332
Royal Oak, MI
48068-0332
The DJ may also give other instructions, such as an e-mail address, but CDs sent to this address will eventually get to the DJ at some point. This is no guarantee that your music will be played. But it's a start.
